Dad's 80th Birthday!!

Today we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday -- woohoo. Thanks to everyone who attended, as it means a lot to our family. Support is always appreciated! I hope y'all had a lot of fun, and I know it lifted my dad's spirits since he's there at the care center. The kids in the pix are Katelin, Elizabeth, Zachary, Jaclyn Whaley, and Jacob Taylor.
The Costco carrot cake was pretty good, too!

Neil

Sadly, this week, my best friend Carole's husband, Neil, passed away after a courageous 2-year battle with an aggressive form of T-cell lymphoma. Neil was a lot of fun to be around, and he and Carole lived life to the fullest together in their travels and all the other recreational activities they participated in. We will miss him a lot.

Cora & Albert's Wedding Day

I love looking at old pictures, and I came across this one of my grandparents on their wedding day. I like how their shadow was caught on the wall also.

World Traveler

My mom loved traveling more than anyone I know. This picture was taken in the '50s when she lived in Europe.

Windy City Trip Pix

check out these pix from our Chicago trip. The one pic was taken from the Observation Deck of the Sears tower. And what an elevator ride that was! Just a little freaky for me...

I had never seen a road (which is really a bridge) split in half so that a boat could go through, which is depicted in the picture with the stopped traffic.

The other pic is self-explanatory for most people, but obviously not for some cheesehead drivers in Wisconsin!

STOP! LAKE MICHIGAN AHEAD...

Whippet Pix

Just starting my blog, and I'm so excited! Here is a pic of my Whippet. His name is Chase aka Chaser aka Chase-a-Boo-Boo, among others. Pic 1- That's a tennis ball he has in his mouth; Pic 2 - He loves ice cream! Whippets are an awesome family dog, but not if you're gone from the home a lot because they really are more people-ish than doggish. At home, Whippets are couch potatoes, but at the dog park, they can run like crazy -- some of them up to 35 mph. NEVER let them out of the yard because it's unlikely you will ever catch them or get them to come back! I would urge anyone who is contemplating getting a Whippet to do a lot of research on the breed.
