Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

OK, I am tired of looking at the same last post, so I'm going to post this recipe for Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. I am not a fan of this type of cookie (the raisin part), but I made them specifically for my dad and Les's dad, and they both LOVED them. So, if you are a lover of this type of cookie, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this recipe. Note: I used the quick oats, not old-fashioned, in my recipe.

1 1/4 cups butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 cups Oats, quick or old-fashioned
1 cup raisins

**Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, salt and spices; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake 8-9 minutes for chewy cookies; 10-11 minutes for crunchy cookies

I've Been Tagged!!!

I have been tagged by Shayla and Lisa on this one!

What is his name? Les

How old is he? 44

Who said I love you first? He did

How long did you date? 15 months

Who can sing better? He can, but we don't go around singing that much.

Who is smarter? He definitely has a broader range of knowledge than I do. Fer sure!

Who does the laundry? Mostly me, but when I don't get it done and he needs something washed, he'll do it! How bad is that? I HATE domestic chores.

Who does the dishes? That would be me.

What are his guilty pleasures? Chocolate, watching reruns of Law & Order, and MythBusters (I hate this show!!!!!)

Who sleeps on the right? I do.

Who mows the lawn? No lawn to mow. Yea!!

Besides you, who is his best friend? Matt (who will be moving here soon, so now he'll have someone besides me to do things with, which means more girl time!!)

Who cooks dinner? OK, this is sad, but when we're eating the same thing, I cook; when we're eating different things, we pretty much fend for ourselves. He eats red meat, I don't, so that's sort of an explanation.

Who drives? He drives.

Who is more stubborn? Probably me, but we're pretty good at compromising.

Who kissed who first? I think we both went for it.

Who asked who out first? Les lived in Illinois, but he was moving out here, so we made plans to meet each other in person when he came out to look for a place to live.

What was your first date? We met at Frasher's Smokehouse for dinner.

Who has more siblings? I do: 1 brother, 1 sister; Les has no siblings.

Who wears the pants in the family? He does . . . when I'm not home!

What is your favorite things about him? His beautiful brown eyes and sexy bald head; his funny sense of humor that makes me laugh every day; his support and thoughtfulness towards me every day; his romantic creative gifts; his willingness to selflessly give of himself for others; his desire for me to be happy. There's so many more things I could go on forever!

Flower Power

I love star gazer lilies and gerbera daisies because they are so bright and beautiful, how could they not brighten your day? Since Spring will be arriving soon (maybe it's already here), I thought I'd post pix of these. The vase of daisies also includes one spider mum for some reason, but they're still beautiful, nonetheless.

Las Vegas Bellagio Hotel - Easter

The top pic is a chocolate fountain thingy at a chocolate shop in the Bellagio. The other pix are from the Bellagio Hotel during the Easter season (I think 2006--I know, they're old, but later's better than never!) They change it for different seasons, and it always looks beautiful. Everything is made from real flowers and plants. Check out the ladybug and the
frog -- they're so bright and colorful! I'm sure this year's display will be just as beautiful. I thought, since it feels like Spring outside today, I would post these for y'alls viewin' pleasure...!

Mom & Dad

I was going through some pictures and found these of my parents. I think they are both in their 20s. I love old pictures, and hope you don't get tired of seeing some of them on here.

I L-o-v-e White Kitchens!

I love white/black kitchens! If you're someone who loves them also, I know you'll completely understand my "almost clinically certifiable obsession" with them. I will confess, though, that my kitchen at home is not white/black, as this does not appeal to the masses and we hope to sell in the near (I hope) future. Needless to say, I had way too much time on my hands a few days ago and found several pictures of these classic white kitchens, which I thought I'd pass along!
